BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT BOOT CAMP: START UP TO SCALE UP
One management style does not apply to all types of organizations. Small, start up organizations have different strengths and weaknesses from large, established organizations. Learn how to best foster creativity, ensure profitability, motivate and manage employees and retain focus on the consumer in start up organizations as well as scaled up organizations.
Program Concept: This is an interactive course. Participants will be given case studies that deal with start up organizations. Day 1: will focus on managing a start up organization Day 2: will focus on managing a scaled up organization.
Course Curriculum: Day 1 Through lecture, discussion, cases studies and group work, participants will learn how to develop a start up business by: - generating, evaluating and progressing concepts/ideas to test market.

Day 2, participants will be given case studies that deal with large organizations and will focus on business objectives and communications, systems and contingency planning.
START UP Great ideas come from small organizations. Sometimes from the garage of someone’s home as in the case of Apple computers. Start up organizations are a hot bed of creativity. They need to not only foster creativity but also ensure that the creativity results in a profitable organization. Start up organizations are also lean, mean and fast. In addition, people who thrive in this type of organization need to managed differently.
SCALE UP A large, more mature organization requires strong focus on continuing to fulfill and focus on the consumer need of your business while having strong systems, constant communication and well thought out contingency plans. Many times, large organizations begin to focus on managing the complexity of the business rather than on the consumer and customer.
